During
June of 1998, there was a week long exchange of visual and performing
artists, urban planners and architects from the cities of Boston and Tainan,
Taiwan. They tackled the development of sites in South Boston, which is
undergoing major change through the construction of the "Big Dig",
new highways to supercede the inadequate existing ones.
Everyone
divided up into three groups, each of whom came up with an artistic vision
of how to integrate art and community with the history of the area, a
long time seafaring port.
